Double Podium for Michael Vertemati in Limatola
Just two weeks after the opening round of the FIM Supermoto World Championship, this weekend the Nicot Vertemati Factory Racing team was back on track for the Italian Supermoto Championship.
A double round full of twists and turns took place at the International Volturno Circuit in Limatola (BN), with two intense race days featuring a morning qualifying session (5+20 minutes) and afternoon races, each following the 15 minutes + 2 laps format.
With a single grid, the Fast and Pro categories delivered great action across all four heats — Saturday on the shorter layout and Sunday on the longer and more demanding version of the track.
Although struggling to find the best setup for this fast, flowing track with wide corners, Michael — competing in the Fast class — managed a solid top-three performance in both qualifying sessions. On Saturday, after finishing fifth in Race 1, he fought back in Race 2 with an impressive P2 finish.
On Sunday, the team made a few changes to the bike alongside the Öhlins technicians to better handle the longer and more challenging layout. Michael secured third place in Race 1 and wrapped up Race 2 in P4, which was red-flagged.
Nicot Vertemati Factory Racing leaves Limatola in third place in the championship standings. Its sights are now set on the upcoming challenges: the World Championship round in Sardinia on May 10th–11th and the next Italian round in Latina on May 24th–25th.

Busy days of hard work, but there's still room for improvement. Despite the podiums, I'm not fully satisfied because I know we could have done better. We now have a few weeks ahead of us to work and come into the next race better prepared.
Josef Vertemati, Team Manager
It was a weekend with two sides. On Saturday, the race was held on the short layout, and Michael felt more comfortable, finishing third. On Sunday, however, with the long layout, he couldn't find the right setup and ended up in fourth place. We're not stopping: we'll keep working to make up points starting from the next round in Latina.
