Nicot Vertemati Factory Racing: determination and valuable points at the GP of Sardinia

It was a gladiator-style weekend for Michael Vertemati and the Nicot Vertemati Factory Racing Team at the second round of the FIM Supermoto World Championship, held at the Sardinia Circuit WS98 in Tramatza.

Michael arrived in Sardinia with one clear goal: to race. After a heavy crash during training left him with serious bruising to his arm and shoulder, though luckily no fractures, he still chose to face the challenge head-on. It was a tough blow, but not enough to stop his desire to fight on track.

The weekend was a true test of grit and determination. On a demanding and technical circuit, with top-level competition all around, Michael tackled free practice and qualifying with focus and strategy, managing the pain while finding his rhythm without taking unnecessary risks. A P16 on the grid marked the first step in a weekend full of battles.

In Race 1, Michael dug deep and fought hard in the pack, but a five-position penalty from Race Direction due to a missed technical check compromised his final result. In the Fast Race (Race 2), he unleashed all his fighting spirit, charging to an impressive 11th place, just shy of the top ten. In the Super Final, the last race of the weekend, he crossed the line in 13th, securing critical championship points.

The day's overall classification saw Michael finish 15th, banking 21 points, a result that goes far beyond numbers, standing as a testament to his determination, resilience, and true warrior spirit.

Next up: the Italian Supermoto Championship in Latina on May 25th.

Michael Vertemati

I'm glad I managed to race the GP despite the shoulder pain. It would've been a real shame to stay home and lose valuable points. Over the past three days, we put in a lot of work on the bike's chassis to fine-tune things. In the motos, I tried to push hard in the opening laps, knowing that from mid-race on I'd have to grit my teeth and hang on until the finish. Now it's time to recover and stay focused as we keep working toward the next race.

Josef Vertemati, Team Manager

It's been a tough weekend, but Michael managed to race, and that shows the level of commitment we have. He gave it everything and finished all the motos, bringing home some important points. Now we look ahead with confidence and a strong desire to keep growing.
